Maidenhead & Bray CC U15 v Boyne Hill CC BHCC U15 Colts on Mon 26 May 2014 at 6pm
Boyne Hill CC Lost 10 runs

Match report Maidenhead and Bray ran out winners in an absolute absorbing Berkshire cup game. Boyne Hill winning the toss elected to bowl on a damp pitch. William Davies took the new ball and straight away had Lindley dropped from inside the ring, this proved costly as Lindley went on to make a aggressive 38. Lindley and Thomas put on a fine stand of 40 with clever play, manoeuvring the ball into gaps with the occasional big shot. Half way stage Bray looked set for a score between 140-150. The introduction of Alwakil changed the momentum Boyne Hills way picking up both Lindley and Thomas in the space of three balls. This sparked new life into the hill, Ahmed and Shazad both picking wickets at the death with great death bowling. Maidenhead and Bray finishing up on 103-9 off 20 overs. Change of innings and Boyne Hill came out of the traps and bullet pace, mainly thanks to Griffin with his clean striking. Hill raced away to 53-1 off seven overs. The lose of Griffin (31) slowed the rate down and with this wickets starting to fall. Iqbal (8) and Ahmed (5) being removed in the space of five balls. Shazad and skipper Thompson steadying proceedings. With Boyne Hill requiring 19 runs off six overs the game looked a done deal however the introduction of Murray and Grey changed the game. Canny off spin bowling from Murray with flight and spin lured Thompson (13) into the big shot and then Bray were revived. Noise levels raised in the Bray camp and being cheered on by good support they believed the near impossible was on. Grey was brought on and bowled incredibly well, testing batsman with each ball. He had Harris, Prabha, McLintock removed in the space of seven balls. All hopes lied on Shazad (18), he went for the big shot off of Murray and was caught well by Brown in the deep. The game seemed up and dually was when Grey bowled Davies. An incredible 7.3 overs from Murray and Grey bought 7 wickets for 15 runs. All in all you can't help that think Boyne Hill gave it away from the position they were in but Bray looked the much better side in the field, an area the hill have to improve in if they want to be considered a strong side in the Berkshire region.
