Match report Boyne Hill threw away a crucial 12 points on Saturday, falling 3 runs short in a run chase they had under control virtually the whole innings.

Kidmore End won the toss electing to bat and after a slow start with a number of very close appeals and a dropped catch eventually put on 70 for the first wicket with Joe Dixon making 53. Just as Kidmore had gained the ascendency,Tom Sheldon was adjudged run out and Wasim Maharoof then had Dixon caught behind and the innings stagnated.
Joe Waldron(76) got things going again with some string leg side shots and found good support from Alex Crawford(24). Kidmore managed to get past maximum batting points at 200 but were kept in check by a good spell of off spin from Sulaiman Javed(3-49). Kidmore closed on 209-6 which looked chaseable.

Boyne Hill started well with Tom Mellor and James Pauffley putting on 38 before Mellor gloved a ball which lifted to slip. Muji Fernando then joined Pauffley and the pair mixed well hit boundaries with a number of plays and misses moving the score on to 110-1 before Fernando holed out to mid off. James Frost and Crawford then bowled accurately to slow the innings down and eventually Pauffley was dismissed for a fine 84, his first half century in 1st team cricket including a large 6 into the pavilion. Saj Hussain then got the innings moving again with some well timed leg side shots and with wickets still in hand and the rate below a run a ball Boyne Hill seemed to have things under control. With just 19 needed from 5 overs the ball was thrown to Ben Berryman who managed to bowl a maiden as Hill looked for big shots when singles would have been fine. Crawford continued to bowl accurately and with batsman struggling to rotate the strike back to Hussain only 11 runs were scored from 4 overs leaving 8 required from the last one. Wickets continued to fall with Kidmore taking some good catches and eventually 3 runs were needed from the last ball. Chris Burnett failed to connect and the game was drawn with Kidmore taking 14 points and Boyne Hill 8. Hussain ended stranded on 44 not out.

Fortunately for Boyne Hill, Chesham lost to Reading and only got 6 points so Boyne Hill are now 3 points clear. This week Boyne Hill have a tough game against Waqar Ahmed and Burnham.
