Match report Boyne Hill fell to an agonising 4 run defeat at Kidmore End on Saturday.

On a very damp wicket from the heavy rain of last week Hill won the toss and elected to bowl with Andley Adams strking early. The Sheldon brothers Tom and Jeff then put together a 50 run partnership with Tom looking particularly dangerous before Saj Hussain struck the crucial blow bowling him for 36. The innings then became becalmed as Hussain and Wasim Maharoof(2-36) first squeezed the run rate and then picked up wickets aided by good catches from Tom Mellor and Adams.
Adams then returned to trap Jeff Sheldon LBW for 33 and the tail then subsided, aside of some crucial lusty blows from David New(16). Kidmore were finally bowled out for 119 with Hussain claiming 6-38 from 18.4 overs of very accurate off cutters.

In reply Boyne Hill negotiated the first 4 overs with few alarms before James Frost blew the game open dismissing Mellor and the key wicket of Muji Fernando with big seaming deliveries down the Hill. James Pauffley(20) played a solid anchor role for Boyne Hill but 2 more wickets soon put Kidmore on top. Hussain played positively for 22 before falling to a good catch at long off. Left arm spinner Alex Crawford(3-33) proved very hard to score off but the lower half of the Boyne Hill order battled hard with Adams making a good 25 before being caught right on the boundary at deep midwicket.
Eventually the last pair needed 19 runs to win, Maharoof played exceptionally well taking his time and picking off the loose ball and Kidmore then dropped Adam Bailes on the boundary. Finally with 5 to win Maharoof attempted to drive Crawford and only succeeded in thick edging it to backward point where Tom Sheldon took a good diving catch. Frost bowled superbly for Kidmore to take 6-52.

Boyne Hill drop to 3rd and this week face top of the table Burnham 2nds.
