Match report Boyne Hill 2nd XI continued their charge towards promotion with an emphatic victory over divisions 6a strugglers Stoke Green to go 42 point clear at the top of the table with only 5 games to play.

The Hill won the toss on a hot day and elected to bat on a good track and made quick progress with Harneet Minhas and Kesavan putting on 71 for the first wicket in 71 overs. Kesavan then departed when he was bowled for 23 before Minhas was unluckily run out for 55 thanks to a direct hit from the boundary. Chris Goode and Paul Farnborough then set about building a solid total as they took to the Stoke Green attack. Farnborough and Goode fell in quick succession for 72 and 66 respectively as the Hill looked to push on and were able to declare for 251 for 5 from 44 overs.

The Hill then made an immediate impact with Steve Abraham picking up a wicket in his first over and with the support of Farnborough reduced Stoke Green to 5 wickets relatively quickly. A brief fight back from Stoke Green followed before Minhas was introduced and quickly removed 2 Stoke Green wickets thanks to some aggressive bowling. It was then down to the returning Farnborugh and skipper Owen Roberts to remove the final wickets to dismiss Stoke Green for 166 in the 49th over.
