Match report Boyne Hill produced a fine fightback on Saturday to secure a maximum point win over Sonning on Saturday.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Hill soon slumped to 30-4 in the face of some accurate bowling from Abbas and Brown. Manish Chaudhary(45) And Rizwan Ashraf(46) then joined in a crucial partnership to rebuild the innings against the Sonning spinners. The reintroduction of Brown saw the back of bothe of them and at 129-6 Hill were again in trouble. 18 year old Adam Bailes then played a fine cameo hitting an aggressive 54 not out with some powerful driving including 2 straight sixes. This guided Hill to maximum batting points at 204-8.

This was probably no more than a par score but seemed an infinitely stiffer target when Sonning overseas player Brown who had scored 154 the previous week hit the first ball of the innings straight to Ashraf at mid on. Sajid Hussain struck twice as Sonning were reduced to 10-3. Ian Boyton and JJ Harris then joined in a solid partnership and were beginning to claim the ascendency before a fine diving catch at extra cover from Don Pike. Ashraf(4-17) and Hussain(5-39) then had little trouble removing the lower middle order and only a stubborn last wicket stand held Hill up before Ashraf produced a Yorker to end the Sonning innings at 113 and earn Hill a deserved 25 points.
