Boyne Hill CC News story

Congratulations Jack Spencer-Jones

26 Apr 2023

Boyne Hill are delighted to announce that Jack Spencer-Jones has been selected as one of 500 Coronation Champions! The Coronation Champions are considered those who have shown outstanding commitment to volunteering within a charity , sports club or the wider community.

Together with Her Majesty The Queen Consort, the Coronation Champion Awards were launched by Royal Voluntary Service to celebrate extraordinary volunteers who go the extra mile to improve the lives of others. The awards recognise volunteers from all corners of the UK and a range of causes.

Jack was nominated for the way he started and has supported the new Womens and Girls sections at Boyne Hill plus his management of the All Stars and Dynamos programmes . Also the way Jack has contacted many Girls schools and Brownie/Girl Guide sections to try to boost girls cricket. This Summer Boyne Hill has already run sessions at Clares Court Junior School for years 3,4,5 and 6 and will be running cricket taster sessions at Newlands School , All Saints School and with both a Brownie and Girl Guide section. At Boyne Hill Jack is also managing the Girls U9 team and has organised all the fixtures for all 3 girls age groups as well as the U13 boys section.

The Coronation Champion entry standard was incredibly high, and the Crown received nearly 5,000 nominations. So it is fantastic that Jack has been chosen as a Coronation Champion. As a Coronation Champion, he receives a certificate from Their Majesties and has  been invited to attend a Coronation celebration , which for Jack is an invitation to a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace hosted by King Charles III and The Queen Consort in May.
